General Summary This position implements Campbell's category management strategies and tactics at the retail level. It is responsible for achieving superior in-store presence in targeted accounts and working with the customer's operations personnel where appropriate to impact retail sales objectives.
Principal Accountabilities • Manage retail conditions to insure competitively superior in store presence on key retail priorities. • Maintain an appropriate coverage discipline to ensure that plans are achieved. Accurately report pricing actions at store level to Customer Teams. • Achieve new item distribution goals. • Achieve 100% Plan-o-gram compliance at store level. • Achieve 100% authorized distribution levels in all routed stores. • Sell displays against all customer programs. • Accurately report, on a timely basis, in-store results. • Monitor and report competitive activity. • Attend new store sets, remodels or major plan-o-gram changes where selling "on-site" can be done. • Develop new selling materials for retail to be shared with other Retail Business Managers. • Understand and execute category business plans and merchandising activities for each customer. • Sell category business plans and merchandising as communicated in retail selling priorities. • Utilize category management principles in presentations to sell base and incremental activities at key customers. • Continue to build an understanding and expertise of category and brand dynamics. • Develop category management presentations. • Understand the customer's retail systems, objectives and strategies; develop strong relationships with store management and supervisor/director levels. • Develop shelf plan-o-grams for key retail customers. • Present new selling concepts at Team meetings. • Schedule time to update manager and mentor on achievements.
Job Requirements • Minimum education required: High School Diploma • Education desired: Undergraduate Degree Preferred • 1+ years of relevant sales experience: • Knowledge, skills and abilities required: • Grocery and/or consumer product industry experience desired • Strong interest in sales • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, competitive, and a team player.
